The AD (Authorized Dealer) Code is a 14-digit code issued by a bank that is authorized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to deal in foreign currency. This code is required to register with the customs department at every port where goods are exported. Without AD Code registration, an exporter cannot generate shipping bills or export goods.
The AD Code must be registered with **Customs at each port of export** via the ICEGATE portal. Exporters can register the same AD code at multiple ports if needed.
